Property Taxes are NOT frozen for owner over 65, Do not believe differently, you now have the PROOF.

Street Bond alone will increase property taxes on a $300k home by $170 a year for 20 years.
FD Bond will increase property taxes $57.59 a year for 15 years.

VOTE NO ON BOTH BONDS

Together that totals over $227 per year for years and years. Plus next year council will need another bond to repair the other 100 streets in Windcrest. Sorry, but $7.4 for a hand full of street is not acceptable. Council could vote to allow Fundraising by the Volunteer Fire Association, then we would not need the FD Bond either. I worked the FD Picnic and we took in many donation checks for $500 each. Just think, a $500 check for each of 2000 house holds would net $1,000,000. Do that for two years, and the long term pain of higher taxes is negated. Why have the 'three' not recommended leasing a ladder truck. We pay to lease the Street Sweeper and the Park Lights so why not a ladder truck. We are debt free now, so leasing a ladder truck would keep up debt free.
